ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 (APP): The Senate session was adjourned on Monday by presiding officer Irfan-ul-Haque Siddiqui due to a lack of quorum, with proceedings set to resume Thursday at 4:30 pm.
The quorum was pointed out twice after Maghrib prayers break.
Initially, just a few minutes after the resumption of proceedings, presiding officer Siddiqui declared the house in order following a count. However, shortly afterward, quorum was raised again, and Siddiqui adjourned the session, declaring the house out of order.
Earlier, Participating in debate on Nov 26 incidents, Saifullah Abro of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) called for a thorough investigation into the incidents.
Khalil Tahir of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) criticized PTI for its flawed approach, while Zeeshan Khanzada of PTI questioned the accountability for the November 26 incidents. He criticized election tribunals for failing to resolve election-related disputes despite the passage of 10 months since the general elections.
